The USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center attracts thousands of tennis aficionados every year to watch the U.S. Open, one of the Grand Slams of tennis, thus establishing itself as a sporting landmark in New York City’s landscape. It is the biggest tennis complex in the world that is open for public use which is comprised of 22 courts inside and 11 more in its neighboring park. These courts have utilized the cushioned acrylic surface since the facility opened. The USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center, the Arthur Ashe Stadium, holds the record as the largest tennis stadium in the world in terms of audience capacity which can accommodate 23,200.
