Sticky Whiskey Bacon Burgers

1/2 pound thick bacon
4 thick slices of sharp cheddar cheese
4 Hawaiian Buns or Everything Seasoning Buns
1 pound ground chuck
kosher salt
fresh cracked black pepper
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce
1 cup pineapple juice (Yes, we really mean this!)
1/2 cup Whiskey (Keep it classic and simple…Jack Daniels Old No. 7)
2 cups brown sugar
4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Add the sauce ingredients into a saucepan and cook over medium heat until the sauce thickens ( this should take about 20 minutes).
Shape the ground beef into patties weighing about 1/4 of a pound each.(add a thumbprint in the middle of the burger)
Season liberally with kosher salt and fresh cracked black pepper.
Cook in a cast iron skillet, on high, 4 minutes on each side.
Add half of sauce to pan with burgers, coat each patty with sauce.
Assemble burgers with bacon and cheese…..and Enjoy! (bring extra napkins!)
