Applications are currently being accepted for the 10th Vermont Trout Camp for Teens

Applications are currently being accepted for the 10th Vermont Trout Camp for Teens, sponsored and managed by members of Trout Unlimited. This is a marvelous opportunity for young people to experience the out-of-doors to its fullest. Our talented, all-volunteer instructors teach classes in fly-casting, entomology, on-stream fly-fishing tactics, fly tying, and coldwater fisheries management. We also participate in a TU conservation project and spend a day with a VT Fish and Wildlife biologist surveying stream life.

Advocates of fly-fishing regularly remind us that fly-fishing is not only the most conservative way to fish, but also the most fun. This program for teens between the ages of 13 and 17 will be held June 19-23, at the beautiful Jackson’s Lodge on Lake Wallace in Canaan, VT. Details on the Camp, applications, and videos from camp in prior years are available at the website: . The website also has information on how businesses and individuals can make the donations that keep this camp affordable.

Most of the dozen or so campers are from Vermont, but we also attract young anglers from as far away as Texas. Perhaps you know some teens who would like to start the summer engaged in an activity that will last not only the rest of the season but – who knows? – the rest of their lives.

Please feel free to reply to sender for more information on applying to and supporting this unique opportunity.
